What happens when you don’t have a playroom?
The toys don’t disappear. They simply become part of the living room.
Blocks gather under the coffee table. Trucks line the bookshelf. Stuffed animals migrate from the sofa to the floor and back again. By the end of the day, the room that once felt calm and grown-up can start to feel like it belongs entirely to the kids.
For many families, especially those living in apartments or smaller homes, a dedicated playroom just isn’t part of the floor plan. And we don’t think that should mean choosing between a beautiful home and one that works for family life.
That tension is what led us to design storage differently.
We wanted something made for the reality of a toy-heavy living room: generous enough for the building blocks, dinosaurs, puzzles and all the oddly shaped things children collect, but considered enough to live beside the furniture you chose before kids.
No primary-colored plastic bins that need to be hidden away. No temporary-looking storage that makes the room feel even busier.
Instead, we looked at storage as part of the room itself.
Soft felt. Warm, leather-like finishes. Quiet, earthy colors. Simple forms that slide into shelving, sit comfortably beside a sofa, or stay out in the open without immediately reading as “toy storage.”
Because when every room is shared, the objects in it have to work a little harder.
They need to be easy enough for small hands to use, sturdy enough for everyday family life, and beautiful enough that you don’t feel the need to put them away when someone comes over.
Our goal has never been to create a home where you can’t tell children live there.
We like the evidence of family life—the half-built tower, the stack of picture books, the drawing someone insists belongs on the wall.
We just believe all of that can exist within a space that still feels like yours.
A home for grown-ups and children, at the same time.
